Found in scrub on top of coastal cliffs, Sydney. It was perched in a tree when I rounded the corner then took off, just low enough to clear the scrub then it dipped back down. It seemed to be slightly larger than a domestic pigeon. Flight seemed much more direct and a little quicker than a domestic pigeon (well at least than a city pigeon).
Spotted Turtle-dove. An import. Unexciting. Lorne
Serious? You're picking it from those shots? What's the giveaway? (ie the key feature that IDs it).
Maybe tail shape and white streak on tail edge?
+1 for Spotted Turtle Dove.
It just looks like one, kinda dumpy and off grey.
Yocantryreachingme... Here are things that make it clearly a STD: black, brown mottling on wings leading to white, then black; tiny head; brown rump; brown tail. LJ
