I would have loved to follow the first Superb Fairy Wren that has changed into full breeding plumage over the last 5 days, but it hasn't stopped raining and is freezing cold. So, the only photos are taken through the dirty
windows. The wet stuff shows how flooded my front garden is.

I was very surprised by it too
One day I noticed a few blue spots and only a few days later .....now he looks like that. He has 6 girls bugging him. (I can hear the boys say, don't I wish I had 6 girls gugging or begging me)

Its so cold here we had snow last week and it has rained every day for the last two weeks and we only go outside if we really have to but its only us humans that can put things on hold because of the weather for birds life gos on and who can complain with six ladies bidding for his attention and wanting to warm him up.

I remember , last season the girls wore him out so badly, that I saw him hiding under bushes to get away from them. I'm not joking here, in the end the boy was so exhausted he couldn't stand up on his legs anymore, and I was worried he wouldn't make it?

Changing here on the s.e. slopes of the Mt Lofty Ranges SA, Nathan.
Ours are already in breeding couloirs, started maybe a month ago to turn.
