I have seen several Rufous Fantails over the last couple of days, I have not noticed these birds here before and they are very hard to get a photo of as they stay in the dark of the forest and move around very quickly

It's great when a species turns up where you haven't seen it before, Matt. No rufous fantails "here" (s.e. slopes of Mt Lofty Ranges) but there was a report of a sighting at Langhorne Creek, about 20 km south of "here" many years ago. Why it bothered to turn up there is a mystery although Pizzey lists it as a vagrant to s.e. SA. Perhaps it'll become less vagrant as revegetation becomes more extensive.
I saw my first Rufous Fantail on the weekend. I had been trying to catch sight of an unknown caller when it flew right to within a few feet, gave me a good lookover, then disappeared again. Fortunately I had my smartphone armed with Birds Australia app and was able to identify it straight away. What a buzz! What a fabulous bird! stunning colours, saucy moves, sweet song. Anyone who manages to get a pic of this one has done well! I didn't even get the camera raised ...
You are right about that hakeae, Matt did a great job taking photos of it. I see them from time to time in my garden, but have not been able to get any good photos of them. Well done Matt![yes yes](https://www.birdsinbackyards.net/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_up.gif)
