is this a yellow plumed honey eater

although I have been a member for some time this is the first time I have joined the forum and not sure how it alll works and dont know if my photos will be included here. However the photos Ihope I  have included were taken in my garden. this bird has been around for a number of days . I think there may be a pair. The best ID match is a Yellow Plumed Honey Eater but as you can see (I hope) the band on my bird is white instead of yellow. They are spending much time in a large eucalypt  and come down to  drink at my bird bath. i would love to know what this bird is. Thanks. Denise. .

I omitted to mention that I live on the coast in Adelaide in SA and the habitat given for Yellow plumed Honey Eater is Mallee. !

Thanks for your reply. I have just replied on another page. Having trouble working this out!

just wondering why this bird isn't listed and also that the yellow plumed honey eater is listed as being a Malllee bird.

Thanks Steve . Seems pretty obvious but was not listed in my book. I have lived in my current house for nearly 9 years and never seen one before.

It's a common species in the Adelaide area so I'm surprised you haven't seen it before, Denise. Yes, the yellow-plumed Honeyeater is a bird of the mallee but about 20 years ago there was an irruption of the species such that one was seen at our place a few kilometers from the male & another at Ashbourne, about 35 Kim's from the mallee, proving that there are so often exceptions to the rule.

Hi Woko. I have now identified this bird as a WHITE plumed Honeyeater.
