Its Monday again! Time for a new challenge.
This week lets see photos of things that birds like to feed on!
Hopefully you all got the latest BIBY newsletter late last week. Don't forget about the poety competition...

One of the very few Butterflies that I know what it is called, Blue Tiger.
Samford Valley Qld.
A cicada I think. Torresian Crows eat these things as I heard a cicada chirping it's head off whilst being carted away by a Torresian Crow. This is the only cicada I've ever seen, and it was in my back yard on my brown onions (hiding from birds and where birds don't go for the most part).
I'm at Tenterfield, NSW. (Formerly known as "Hyperbirds".)
Some sort of fly from Cairns which should be tasty

A small native mardo would make a nice snack for a raptor.

A Magnificent Tree Frog would be a tasty morsel for most of the Heron family.

Are we accepting food in its most literal sense?
This new holland honeyeater wanted to show off the day's entire menu all at once!
About a bazillion bugs, if I'm not mistaken.

This fly would be a tastey treat for most insectovores.
How about some little cicadas?

Garfish are a tasty treat for a Crested Tern

True to their name, Sooty Oystercatchers often eat molluscs, but they also take other invertebrates, such as crustaceans and worms, opportunistically — they eat whatever is abundant at that site.

Sometimes you need to be clever to safely eat the food. This crow ate from the belly of this toad (Parry's Lagoon, WA) which was pleasing to witness.

Grasshopper I think?

Australian Figbird........
Samford Valley Qld.
Hah, I think that Figbird nails the brief just right, Reflex. Can scarcely see the bird for its food!
A Grey Shrike Thrush putting the squeeze on some poor caterpillar. A delightful morsel, no doubt.

Barred Cuckoo-Shrike with a Moreton Bay Fig.
Samford Valley Qld.
I'm sure a Kookaburra or something would like this as its meal. Jacky Dragon I think.
A tasty Mantis for this young Triller.

Southern Leaf-Tailed Gecko. This little guy was hiding in the garage away from the Kookaburras
Dave, Sydney.
Don't like being reminded that cute little geckoes are frequently snapped up by kookaburras and the like. Got a real soft spot for the little guys! Spotted one on the bedroom wall the other day and it made my day.
Superb Fairy Wren showing he's not just a pretty face by taking on a hoverfly of some description.

A Blue Argus might be tasty

I took this in our backyard yesterday middle of the day. I don't think it is a rat or mouse but not really sure. It was difficult to photograph as I was feeling so sorry for the poor critter... But Kookaburra downed it in one gulp.
This Caspian Tern landed right next to a Pelican which didn't hesitate to try to take the fish from the Tern.

This Red Claw proved a bit difficult for the Cormorant in Kununurra.
