Well camouflaged.

I was walking down at Daisy Hill Forest this afternoon, when I passed something peculiar-looking on a tree, but didn't think anything of it. When I came back that way later, I was interrogating the bushes a bit more closely for birds, and realised that it was a Tawny Frogmouth.

He/She did not seem particularly pleased at being woken up, and the sun was in a kind of bad spot for both of us. So I took a couple of photos and bailed.

It is truly marvellous how well they blend in. I love seeing these guys around. smiley

Yeah, I got the vibe. The sun was shining in the poor thing's eye as well. Which is why I didn't stick around for very long.

I apologised as I left. frown

"Sorry for disturbing you, you're just so beautiful!"

Which is about as disingenuous sounding an apology as they come, I suppose.
