Nankeen Night Heron

Lucky enough to get a rare glimpse of a bird that I rarely see up at Honeymoon Pool in Collie Hills

Good stuff, laza. And Collie Hills would be where? (Just for the uninitiated & less well-travelled).

Ah, hah! Thanks, laza. I always like to know where posters are seeing birds. Who knows, there might be a species seen way out of its range such as the recent Eremaea website report of a koel on the River Torrens at Athelstone, a north eastern suburb of Adelaide SA.

NIce shots - you say its a rare sighting in that region - the bird looks a bit lost as well - he is looking around wondering where am i ?

Fantastic!  And he was nice and low and went all stretchy for you too, obliging little guy smiley.  I've only seen them once in Tas, way up high about an hour or so before sunset.  Beautiful birds they are though, aren't they?  Wonderful sneaky through the gap in the foliage shots by the looks too laza yes.
