Would this by any chance be the Jamieson reserve barking owl as i went down there last weekend and heard a barking owl but unfortunately could not locate it
Thanks for the comments annie and Babybirdwatcher: that is the area (in Sydney). The location was different to the usual spot and he was not calling as it was early afternoon. I was very lucky and the light was good for my 400mm Nikon. You could appreciate his size better in the causarinas.
These are beautiful Sue .... I don't know why I seem to be the only birdwatcher that never has encounters with owls ... night or day!!! I love the snoozy shot after he flashes the big yellows at you !!

I have not seen many owls but this fellow is very obliging. Thanks Akos, sometimes it comes together well and that training helps.
