Finally a Powerful Owl!

This is the same as Reflex's but I'm just so excited to finally see one in the flesh I just had to post it.

After that we went to the Botanicle Gardens. While I didn't get any new birds, I did manage some nice photos.

Congratulations finding the powerful owl - great photos getting the light in the eyes.

Lovely shots from the gardens too - the lorikeet is a beauty. Good place to find co-operative subjects for photography.

The owl looks like an adult male.

Nice pics, of all birds. Esp. the Noisy Miner on that red flower. Very pretty.

Thanks guys, I was really thrilled to finally get to see one up close. (close enough for a decent photo anyway)

I showed some of my friends and they didn't even realise the Powerful Owl was a real bird.

They thought it was a myth like the Yowie or Yetti. surprise

Apparently the Powerful Owl stopped a bypass cutting through Samford.

The plans were submitted but there was an uproar because Samford is "Home of the Powerful Owl" , therefore the plans were knocked on the head. smiley
