Thanks, not sure why he wrote that? I was trying to find out which it was....so red-knecked stint.

"sp." is often written when the writer isn't sure of precisely what species it is, shore.rob.

suggest Red-necked Stint; I saved the pic and then enlarged but it became pixalated very quickly

Not the best photo to work with, but the dark shoulder says Sanderling to me.

Why do others think this is a Red-necked Stint, & not a Sanderling?

I'm not great on wader's but I thought Sanderling because of the dark shoulder patch too!

Well, i'm definitely not an expert smiley The Sanderlings I saw were a lot more grey and white, lighter in colouring. But I'm just going on colours heresmiley
